The armed incursion registered in the Omni Hospital, at dawn on Wednesday, January 11, is the eighth episode of these characteristics that has been registered inside or in the vicinity of health centers in the country in the last 20 months.
In that hospital was Carlos K., a 35-year-old man who had been attacked last week while driving in an armored car.
A group of hitmen tried to liquidate him and confronted Carlos K’s guards. One of them died in a hospital elevator. Two of Carlos K.’s guards, a Venezuelan and a Colombian, were arrested.
The alleged custodians were armed inside the hospital, where they would have entered as relatives of Carlos K.

A woman who was hospitalized in a clinic in the north of Guayaquil was murdered by subjects who entered the sanatorium with a long firearm, around 06:00 on that Wednesday, May 5. Five citizens, including two in police uniforms, accessed the second floor of the sanatorium and inquired about a room where a citizen had been who, one day before (this Tuesday the 4th), had already been discharged. After intimidating the medical personnel, the criminals opened the door of the searched room and shot at a patient who was inside.

Individuals opened fire towards the façade of the Bastión Popular type C health center, in the northwest of Guayaquil. A glass door at the main entrance was totally destroyed and there was other damage to the windows. One person was injured with a shot to the head. Minutes later his death was confirmed.

An ambulance that went from the Abel Gilbert Pontón hospital, better known as Guayaquil, to a health home in Milagro, with several wounded, was attacked by antisocial gunshots. In this event, a patient, the driver and the paramedic died and three other people were injured.

An exchange of bullets between alleged hit men and personnel from the Joint Task Force was recorded outside the emergency area of the Delfina Torres South Hospital. The incident was reported around 11:00 p.m. on that Saturday the 6th, when Sandro Caicedo Castillo (45 years old) was being transferred to this health home, seriously injured. The victim was shot in the El Cóndor neighborhood, a few blocks from the Delfina Torres hospital.

A young man died before noon on Wednesday, November 16, after receiving several bullet wounds to the head, at the entrance to the Ciudad Victoria health center, in the northwest of Guayaquil. According to witnesses, the now deceased fled from his victimizers and tried to take refuge in the medical center, but was hit by shots. Subjects began to shoot at the entrance of the health clinic, at the main door. The young man fell there and other people were also injured in the attack.

Armed criminals raided the Chone hospital and subdued nursing staff. The situation went viral in videos that began to circulate. They were looking to kill a young man who was hospitalized in that health home. After the police action, the criminals were captured and the hostages were released. The Government indicated that seven subjects were captured.
