In several jute sacks, human remains were found on a sidewalk of the Juan Montalvo cooperative, in the north of Guayaquil.

The discovery was reported between the streets Pujilí and 2do Callejón 19E, after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 11th.

To the astonishment of the residents of the sector, police officers cordoned off the scene until they waited for the arrival of the investigative units, such as the Criminalistics and Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased).

Preliminarily, with the arrival of the agents of the specialized areas, it was learned that the remains of two people would be in the bags.

Maximiliano Maldonado, head of the Florida district, confirmed that seven human anatomical pieces were found at the site that would correspond to two bodies.

“The pieces are burned, incinerated,” he explained.

According to the first inquiries, around 2:00 p.m., residents of the sector observed that the bags were abandoned by the occupants of a vehicle that was passing through the area.

After 8:00 p.m., a Forensic Medicine vehicle was in charge of transferring the remains to the Forensic Sciences and Criminalistics laboratory.

In the morgue, it was expected to continue with the proceedings to establish exactly the number of people that these remains would correspond to.

In days gone by, a human head was found on a pedestrian bridge on the perimeter road, while outside an educational facility of the coop. Balerio Estacio reported the abandonment of three legs.

This afternoon, in another sector of that same neighborhood, a man was attacked with a bullet by subjects who were moving in a gray vehicle. The victim was mobilizing as a passenger on a trike, when individuals on board the vehicle shot him.

Likewise, in the Unión de Bananeros cooperative, in Guasmo, the driver of a vehicle was murdered. As a result of the gunshot wounds, the victim ended up hitting bushes located in front of a house.

Two other crimes occurred in blocks 4 and 7 of Flor de Bastión. At the first point, a man was affected by bullet wounds while driving a trike.

In zone 8, also made up of the Durán and Samborondón cantons, there have already been more than 60 violent deaths so far this month. (YO)
