Potato Gratin Recipe

Potato Gratin Recipe

Dear readers, this recipe is second to none, so much so that when I made it to accompany the turkey, everyone came back to help themselves to a little more. That is a great sign for a hostess, that the dishes are empty and the grandchildren enjoy the dishes on the table. She has been worth the effort, so I recommend her as a favorite for this holiday season.

I hope you enjoy it and thank your cook today.

Grated potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 16 or 18 medium potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 butter spoons
  • 1 cup of milk cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
  2. In an oval or round baking dish, put the olive oil and spread it all over the container. Begin to arrange the standing potatoes as if forming a spiral until the entire source is compacted.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet and brush the potatoes on top.
  4. In a bowl put the milk cream with the eggs, salt and pepper. Beat with a fork and water this preparation on top of the potatoes. Sprinkle with a touch of nutmeg, salt, and freshly ground pepper.
  5. Bake at 350ºF or 175ºC for about an hour until the potatoes are cooked and golden brown on top. Remove from heat and serve piping hot.

Note: Makes approximately twelve servings. I would venture to suggest that you prepare two sources. These gratin potatoes are a success.
