In much of Ecuador there would be rain between Sunday 8 and Friday 13 January.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) forecasts rains in three regions of the country.
According to that entity, on the coast there will be high intensity rains and storms with gusts of moderate wind in several provinces.
Dry January: effects of the La Niña phenomenon delay the arrival of the rainy season
The highest intensities of rains will occur in Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo, Los Ríos, north of Guayas and Manabí.
In the Inter-Andean region there will be rains of varying intensity with occasional storms, especially in the northern provinces, such as Carchi and Imbabura, and in the center, such as Pichincha and Cotopaxi. In addition, the daytime temperature will be low.
While in the Amazon, heavy rains are expected from January 11 in the north of that region, in Lago Agrio, Orellana, Napo and Zamora Chinchipe.
Constant rain and cold accompanied Quito on the first Monday of 2023
“The greatest intensities will occur on the coast, with emphasis on the early morning of January 9 and 11,” Inamhi said on its Twitter account..
For that entity, it is likely that there is accumulation of water in homes, businesses and roads. In addition, the roads could be affected by standing water, landslides and fog.
The ingress of moisture from the north of the country will be, among other factors, the cause of the climate that will appear in the coming days. (YO)
