Bakery owner was murdered when he had just opened his business

A 53-year-old man who attended his bakery was shot to death early this Friday, January 6.

The crime occurred in the Los Pinos cooperative, located at kilometer 26 of the road to Daule. The business is about 200 meters from the road.

The victim had just opened his business at 05:30 and was beginning to serve his first customers when two subjects arrived on a motorcycle in the sector.

The baker was shot three times when he leaned out to attend to the men. The body was left inside his premises, detailed Colonel Víctor Molina, head of the Pascuales district.

Molina indicated that the victim has no criminal record and that he was one of the leaders of the sector.

The police chief assured that they still do not know the motivation of the armed attack.

Nearby, in the Rosa Elvira sector, located at km 23 of the road to Daule, on the night of Thursday, January 5, two bodies were found bagged in the Daule River.

According to unofficial data, one of the corpses was in a sack and the other in covers, apparently dismembered.

In Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón) there have been 20 violent deaths until January 6. (YO)
