The temperature in the Moscow heat supply system has been adjusted in accordance with abnormal frosts and is at its maximum value. According to Interfax, this was stated by Deputy Mayor of the capital Pyotr Biryukov.

“On Wednesday, it was decided to start a phased increase in the temperature of the coolant in the heating system,” Biryukov said.

He recalled that abnormally cold weather is expected in the capital region from January 6 to 10, the average daily air temperature will be 9-17 degrees below the climatic norm.

According to the regulations, the maximum temperature of the coolant in the system is 130 degrees.

Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that from January 6, Muscovites will experience the coldest five-day period since the beginning of the century, with night temperatures down to minus 26 degrees.

According to the website of the meteorological institution, on Christmas night in Moscow it will freeze to minus 26 degrees. Temperatures are expected to range from 21 to 25 degrees below zero over the next three nights.

Since Thursday, the hydrometeorological center of Russia has raised the level of weather danger in Moscow to the penultimate, “orange” level.
