A 58-year-old man was found dead inside a cell phone sales and repair shop located in the suburb of Guayaquil.

Around noon this Wednesday, January 4, his relatives came to the business to look for him, since they had not heard from him since Sunday and the store did not open on Tuesday.
The strong smell alerted them and when they opened the roll-up door of the corner store they found the man’s body on the floor next to a pool of blood.
The incident alarmed the residents of 29th and Venezuela streets.
Murder of a teenager with a rifle in the Casuarina would be a declaration of war between criminal gangs
Major José Mayorga, chief of operations of the Portete district, said that due to his advanced state of decomposition the cause of death could not be anticipated, however, he mentioned that with the naked eye the agents would have seen injuries to the victim’s head.
He also revealed that they found a hammer next to the body and it is presumed that he was attacked with the tool.
Mayorga maintained that the 58-year-old man had no criminal record, so what could have motivated the crime is being investigated.
According to the neighbors, last week the now-deceased had a problem with a client who had not fixed a phone on time. Witnesses claimed that he was threatened.
Criminalistics agents after lifting the body searched the area for security cameras to establish who entered the victim’s premises. (YO)
