Man was shot to death while working on a construction site in Quevedo

Several citizens commented that the criminals took advantage when the man was crouched, checking some points of the work, to shoot him.

A man of approximately 30 years old was killed by subjects who gave him six bullet wounds, around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, in the El Atascoso sector of Quevedo.

The man worked as a laborer on the new overpass bridge being built in that area, so a lane of the avenue was blocked Walter Andrade. Several citizens commented that the criminals took advantage of the fact that the man was crouching, verifying some points of the work, to shoot him on several occasions.

According to witnesses, three subjects who were circulating on a motorcycle left from one of the streets near the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús hospital to reach the area and commit the crime. Later they fled on the motorcycle and threw the firearm that they used to execute the death on the side of the road.

Criminalistics elements arrived at the site to collect evidence at the site. While they searched the body, which was left on the side of the sidewalk, they found at ankle height, stored in one of his boots, a firearm with its respective cartridges. That evidence will remain in custody to clarify this new violent event that generates concern in the population of that canton of Rio de Janeiro. Ten ballistic evidence was also collected by agents at the scene of the event.

The corpse of the worker, who was identified as Javier Goya Messiah, was transferred to the city morgue.

The relatives of the victim, through tears, lamented the death of their relative, stating that this November 4 was their first day of work. As for the crime, they preferred not to comment. (I)
