An alleged stray bullet caused the death of a minor, who was walking in the Fanca 4 citadel, in the Sucre canton, when the event occurred, on the night of December 24.
The child was identified as Jesús Javier Ormaza. His relatives indicated that several shots were allegedly heard near this sector of the Leonidas Plaza parish, in the Sucre canton, and that one of those projectiles was the one that impacted the humanity of the minor.
Ormaza’s body was taken to the Manta forensic center for the respective autopsy.
The murders almost tripled in the Chone area and there is concern about a wave of violence
That same Christmas Eve in the Jaramijó canton there was a murder. The victim was recognized as Clober Freddy Marín Quijije, 46, who was attacked when he was outside a house located on Alajuela street in that Manabita coastal canton.
After the attack suffered, acquaintances of Marín transferred him to the Ecuadorian Air Force clinic, located near Combat Wing number 23, on the border between Manta and Jaramijó, where he died a few minutes after entering.
So far in 2022, in Manabí one person dies violently every 22 hours
The third victim on Christmas Eve occurred in the El Bejuco sector, in the Chone canton. Persons not yet identified shot at the humanity of Héctor Heáclito Vélez Cusme, 56 years old.
The Police are investigating the attacks that took place in the three cantons of Manabita, without any arrest being made so far. So far in 2022 in Manabí there were 498 violent deaths. (YO)
