The Pico y Placa vehicle restriction in Quito began to rule from this Thursday in automobiles whose license plates end in 7 and 8. Today and tomorrow, the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) operatives will focus on socializing the measure with drivers, since as of November 8, the sanctions will begin.
The fines for infringing The restriction is: the first time it will be 15% of a unified basic salary (SBU), the second time 25% and the third time 50%. Currently, the basic salary is $ 400, therefore, the penalties range from $ 60 to $ 200. The AMT clarified that in all cases the vehicle will be retained.
One of the checkpoints was located in the El Ciclista ring, north of Quito, where the traffic officers provided details of the mobility plan.
