Motorcyclist died after hitting streetlights in Manabí

Minutes before the accident, a crane-type truck would have hit the metal structures that were located in the central parterre.

Elinton Alberto Santos Loor, 43, lost his life hours after he had an accident against two lighting poles that a truck had knocked over previously, at kilometer 36 of the road to Chone, near the entrance known as the “ old Nestlé ”.

The accident occurred around 01:00 on Wednesday, November 3. According to the police report, minutes before the accident in Saltos, a crane-type truck would have impacted and demolished the structures that were located in the central parterre of the road to Chone. The truck driver left the site, it was said.

Later, Saltos, on board a motorcycle, crashed in that area of ​​the road where the poles and cables were located. The man was seriously injured as he suffered blows to the head.

According to the inhabitants of the sector, upon hearing the loud noise, they went out onto the street and observed Saltos unconscious in the middle of the two posts and cables.

After the alert, the rescuers of the Fire Department advanced to the accident site and found that Saltos was still alive.

The man was taken to the El Carmen basic hospital. Despite the efforts of the doctors, Saltos passed away at approximately 08:00.

Elements of the Traffic Accident Investigation Service carried out the removal of the body and subsequent transfer to the forensic center in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. (I)
