Ukraine received more than $31 billion from Western partners in 10 months of 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on his Telegram channel.
He also noted that almost another 200 billion hryvnia (about $5.4 billion) went to the budget of Ukraine through the sale of military bonds.
At the end of May, the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, said that only a third of the revenue part of the Ukrainian budget was received from domestic sources, the remaining two-thirds were formed on the basis of foreign grants and loans. According to the Ukrainian prime minister, the budget deficit was $5 billion a month. In July, according to Oleg Ustenko, adviser to the President of Ukraine on economic issues, the budget deficit rose to $9 billion.
In early November, Ukraine’s parliament adopted a 2023 budget with a record $38 billion deficit and an estimated 28% inflation rate. According to the draft budget, military spending will exceed 18% of GDP.
