The authorities of the Volgograd region decided to ban the use of drones. According to RBC, the corresponding decree was signed on December 28 by the governor of the region Andrei Bocharov.

The ban comes into force from the day of its official publication, the government of the region notified about it on December 31.

“The decision was made in order to strengthen public order and ensure public safety,” the regional government said in a statement.

According to the decree, the ban applies to all types of drones, regardless of their takeoff weight. The measure was taken in connection with the high alert regime introduced on October 19 in the regions of the Southern and Central federal districts of Russia. The ban will remain in force until the expiration of the relevant decree of President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, the launch of drones was banned for residents of the Perm Territory, Kuban, Tatarstan, Crimea, the Republic of Mari El, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tula, Saratov and Rostov regions. In the Donetsk People’s Republic, such a ban was introduced in August, even before joining Russia.

In addition, the authorities of the Kursk region “strongly recommended” not to launch drones for domestic purposes, and in the Kaluga region, residents were obliged to inform the security forces about the launch of drones no later than 24 hours in advance.
