The board of the Electric Corporation of Ecuador (Celec) appointed this December 30 Gonzalo Uquillas Vallejo as the new general manager. He has already held that position on two previous occasions.

He has also been director of Operational Planning of the National Electricity Operator Cenace (from 1999 to 2003), director of Information Systems of Cenace (from 2003 to 2016) and national manager of Technical Development of Cenace (2017).
