Sadness and shock seized the relatives of Francisco Javier Mora Ortiz, 45, who died this Wednesday morning with bullet wounds to the stomach for resisting the theft of his belongings inside a bus from the Pascuales cooperative.
According to witnesses, two armed individuals began to steal the belongings of the passengers on the Pascuales-La Aurora highway. The victim would have opposed the robbery, struggled with them and they shot him several times.
After this, the criminals fled.
The bus driver, alarmed by this attack, went to the La Puntilla Fire Department station at km 10 of Samborondón Avenue, to receive paramedics assistance; however, his death was confirmed there.

“He did not let his money be taken away, but they took the most important thing, his life.” This is how relatives of the victim lamented who came to the site to confirm this violent act during an assault.
One of his relatives said that he leaves four minors in orphanage. He lived in Flor de Bastión and that he always used that transport line to go to his masonry work.
Heavy vehicular traffic was recorded in that area, waiting for more than eight minutes without advancing due to the arrival of the units for this procedure, in addition to the number of cars that move through that area daily.

Major Christian Granizo, from the Samborondón district, explained that Criminalistics and Dinased personnel arrived to remove the body, which revealed some gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
He added that despite not being their jurisdiction, full assistance was given to this case, which according to georeferencing, in the Pascuales-La Aurora area there are several reports of assaults, but since it is not their district they have no further details. (YO)
