In the remaining days before the New Year, the planet Earth will have to endure a serious perturbation of the geomagnetic field lasting from several hours to several days. According to Dr. Peter, according to the short-term forecast of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy, the next burst of solar activity is expected as early as Wednesday, December 21. It will last several hours: the magnetosphere will be excited from early morning until noon Moscow time.

As specified, the probability of a magnetic storm will be 25%, a strong geomagnetic storm – 5%.

According to information on the Spaceweather website, noticeable active regions have been appearing on the Sun in recent days. This may pose a threat of significant solar flares in the coming days.

According to preliminary data from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory, the next serious magnetic storm will hit Earth on December 25. Her class is rated as G1 (weak level) and it will last for several days – until the 28th. The excited magnetosphere of the Earth will also remain on December 29 and 31, 2022.
