The condition of the three-time world football champion Brazilian Pele is gradually improving, but it is too early to talk about his discharge from the hospital, the doctors of the legendary football player said.
According to TASS with reference to a statement by doctors, the patient’s condition “continues to improve, in particular with regard to respiratory infection, but it is not yet possible to predict when he can be discharged.”
Recall that Pele was hospitalized at the end of November. It was alleged that the hospitalization was planned. Later, he was diagnosed with a respiratory infection, and his daughter reported that his father had contracted covid the day before his hospitalization.
In September 2021, Pele underwent surgery to remove a malignant tumor in his colon. Later, tumors were found in his intestines, liver, and also in the lung at an early stage. Currently, the three-time world champion is in palliative care, as his body stopped responding to chemotherapy. Palliative care helps relieve pain and shortness of breath.
