The former Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein, has been found guilty this Monday by a Los Angeles court of rapeforced oral copulation as well as a third count of inappropriate sexual conduct.
These three charges for which the producer has been convicted were linkedsa one of his accusers, a model and actress who testified that the movie mogul assaulted her in a Beverly Hills hotel room in February 2013, CNN has reported. However, jurors have found Weinstein not guilty on one count of restraint sexual assault against another woman.
Harvey Weinstein forever destroyed a part of me that night in 2013. I’ll never get my back. The criminal trial was brutal. Weinstein’s lawyers put me through hell on the witness stand. But I knew I had to see this through to the end, and I did,” the actress who was abused by the producer in Beverly Hills, anonymously identified as Jane Doe 1, said in a statement. “I hope Harvey Weinstein never sees the outside from a prison cell during his lifetime,” added Jane Doe 1.
The decision -which lacks a conviction- Will add more years in prison to Weinsteinwho is 70 years old and is already serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York for other violations, according to the ‘Los Angeles Times’.
more than 100 women Weinstein has been accused of sexual misconduct since 2017, when the #MeToo movement broke out, when countless actresses, models and women from the world of cinema denounced the producer.
In 2020, two years after the allegations against him came to light, a New York jury sentenced to 23 years in prison the once-powerful producer on a third-degree rape charge committed against Jessica Mann, and a first-degree sexual offense on production assistant Mimi Haley.
However, the jury -made up of five women and seven men- acquitted the disgraced movie mogul of the most serious chargesrape in the first degree and, especially, that of predatory sexual conduct that could have led to life imprisonment.
