Russel Oswaldo Morán Riofrío, 19, died Sunday night after being shot in the head in a confusing incident that is being analyzed by the Police. The incident occurred in the El Trapecio sector in the rural parish of Febres-Cordero, in the Babahoyo canton.
According to information collected, Morán along with two other young people, aged 16 and 23, would have robbed people, something that allegedly provoked the anger of residents of El Trapecio, who allegedly would have taken justice into their own hands by victimizing Morán and causing injuries to the other two men. They were rescued by police officers.
It was also indicated that between 25 and 30 people were the ones who had detained the three youths and that one of them presumably died after being shot in the head.
