In Loja, a teenager slipped while participating in a camp and drowned in the Yamburara River

The body of Marlon Márquez Regalado, 30, who had been reported missing since the night of Sunday, July 17, was located on the morning of this Wednesday, July 20, in the sector called Los Encuentros.

The alert was generated because a nun and her student slipped on the bank of the Yamburara River. Operational personnel carried out search work and managed to save the first, who, in trying to save her partner, caused lacerations and polytrauma to her body.

For this reason, she was transferred by the Fire Department ambulance to the Vilcabamba parish hospital.

While the 14-year-old student was dragged by the flow of the river around 500 meters, which caused her death.

Police and firefighters attended the emergency. The group was completing the vacation courses planned in the Yamburara sector.
