When everything flows well in a restaurant a month after its opening, even with full tables, it means that there is something well thought out behind the kitchen. In Macca, a new proposal, the service was impeccable. his chef, Jose Arellano, He already has some successes to his credit, after opening the Vento kitchen a few years ago and his successful foray with Comal, the best taqueria in the country.
Conceptually, Macca is a bistro. The chef explains that his proposal tries to keep roots of French cuisine, something more modern than the typical one we have in mind when we think of this gastronomy, although it seemed more eclectic to me, although this French background is recognizable in its sauces.
It has a fairly complete menu, including interesting dishes to share, pasta, meat, fish, rice and countless other options that make the experience something enriching.
As a good bistro, it is a small, cozy place with an outside area. It is located in Los Arcos Plaza, at km 1.5 of the Samborondón road.
I recommend visiting it at night. Its terrace, with well-executed lighting, offers a combination of rooms lounge and tables that invite the diner to a long and relaxed after-meal conversation.
We started with grilled octopus in a roasted tomato marinade, with mashed peas. Exquisite, perfectly cooked. The thin loin tartare with homemade bread in Dijon mustard was one of the best dishes. Well done. Tartare is a dish that I love. Its earliest references date back as far as the 12th century, but it probably began to be made even earlier, during the Mongol Empire. It seems very easy: raw minced meat, but it is a real art to marinate it well.
Le boeuf tataki it was a good dish. Delicate and fine. Strips of loin with a soy emulsion, citrus and butter noisetteor burnt butter.
The thin beef tenderloin in Bordeaux sauce with mashed potatoes with black truffle is also one of the dishes that we recommend ordering.
The grilled sea bass with vierge sauce was top notch, and the wonderful sticky shrimp rice that goes with it is probably the best thing on the house.
For Father’s Day weekend, the restaurant offers a tasting menu, and its plans are to incorporate this type of proposal on a recurring basis. It is a pleasant place to go in a group, share and enjoy a bar with a good variety of liquors. (EITHER)
