Creating a space to make visible the hard work of Ecuadorian designers is the purpose with which the event began four years ago Co-vet Pop-upa day fashionist with national seal organized by Camila Burbano.

“The purpose of this initiative is to promote Ecuadorian designers and give them a space where they can show their brands and market their proposals from the beginning. For entrepreneurs it is difficult to find a place or space that allows them to exhibit and sell their creations. The idea of this pop up is that the designers can promote and that the public knows them closely”, says Camila Burbano, one of the organizers of this activity.
Co-vet Pop-up, which begins today, is scheduled to run until Sunday, June 12, at the Club de la Unión in Quito. Designers from Guayaquil, Quito and Cuenca take part in this installment.
Be_ec, Yola Neme, Órafe, Hera Studio, Baccio, Artesa, Kawitt, Diana Erazo, Theodora, Andrea Tello, Kiku, Zikoma, Jacqueline Moncayo, Zikomo, Mestizza and Florencia Dávalos will participate in this event, which will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 and will have as special guests the Ecuadorian Fiorella Solines and the Colombian Lina Polandpresenters of the program Girls o’clockof RCN.
Camila and her sister Verónica Burbano also participate with their Insólito brand, inspired by the fluidity of its patterns and based in Ecuador. The proposal, Camila indicates, has been built on the basis of bold graphics, rich colors and femininity developed in clothing, textiles and home products.
“Our process starts with IDEM, our creation method. Here, our original photographs are manipulated to create brand new patterns. Conscious of the materials we use, many of our products are made from recycled plastics and textiles. Since its launch in 2016, we have been commissioned for custom furniture, design or interiors for residential and commercial spaces along with home accessories”, Camila mentions.

Camila, the creative, focuses on design and operations. A graduate of the Pratt Institute, in New York, she studied Graphic Design and worked with Jonathan Adler and the famous Bauhaus potter Eva Zeisel during her five years in the United States. Veronica, on the other hand, handles the business side. She trained at the George Washington University, and in Spain she received her MBA in Entrepreneurship at ESADE Business School, in Barcelona.
