Euskaraz irakurri: Guggenheimek ‘Mundua bat da museum’ kontzertua hartuko du ostegunean
The Atrium of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao will host this Thursday, May 12, the concert “The world is a museum”, “a show that combines music, literature, art and architecture”. It is a literary story created for the occasion by Kirmen Uribe, which is joined by the voices of the Bilbao Choral Society and the Euskadi Brass orchestra.
The story created by Kirmen Uribe in a “poetic key” traces the history of the museum from its origins, stopping at aspects such as its birth, the enclave where it settled, the industrial past of the city, the Ría, its exhibitions, the most emblematic artists or its international vocation, as reported by the museum.
“We grew up with this museum, the museum made us. As people and as a country. And it is that architecture, works of art, are not mere objects. They move, and they make us move and that is why they are necessary. It is like this simple. Because the world is a museum, and the museum is a world”, reflects Uribe.
Kirmen Uribe’s voice will resonate in the Museum Atrium accompanied by the voices of the 70 choristers of the Bilbao Choral Society and the ten members of the Euskadi Brass orchestra.
This concert is part of the acts to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Guggenheim in Bilbao.
Tickets for the concert, which will begin at eight in the evening, are on sale at the box office and on the museum’s website, at a price of 15 euros.
