These are the nominations for WĘ¯Y 2022. We know the worst Polish films of 2021

Let us recall that in the history of Snakes so far, the awards for the worst films of the year have won the following titles: klaps “(2016),” Smoleńsk “(2017),” Botoks “(2018),” Studniówk @ “(2019),” Bear Fur “(2020) and” 365 days “(2021). Snakes 2022 will be awarded in 11 categories, including: worst actor, worst actress, worst duo or under talent performance. The Academy also appreciates directors and screenwriters, embarrassing scenes in Polish cinema, bad posters and music videos. The winners of Hoses 2022 will be announced on April 13 at the IMKA Theater in Warsaw.

Węże 2022. List of the worst Polish films

The nominees are selected by members of the Pop-Cultural Academy of Everything (PAW), which is made up of people professionally active in the field of broadly understood culture. Nearly 200 people belong to PAW, including journalists, authors, culture animators and others. Every year, they award Węże (awards for the worst Polish films), as well as Teddy Bears – for a change, they are awards for the best works of Polish popular culture. According to the assumptions of the originators, Węże in a humorous way are to encourage discussion about the quality of Polish cinema and draw attention to dangerous trends that do not serve the development and prosperity of Polish cinematography.

“We have been stubbornly cheering for Polish cinematography for a decade, believing that Snakes are a kind of safety valve for it that protects against falling into dangerous self-love. We hope that the creators, like us, treat our awards half-jokingly, half-seriously,” write the members of the PAW chapter.

As it turns out, in the list of productions with the greatest number of nominations, there are films by multiple Snakes winners from previous years. These are “Pitbull” by Patryk Vega (seven nominations) and “Ściema po polsku” by Mariusz Pujszo (also seven nominations). On their heels are “The Second Half” by Łukasz Wiśniewski and “Wyszyński. Revenge or forgiveness”, which have received six nominations each. Among the nominated artists there were many famous faces – starting with Andrzej Grabowski, Magorzata Kouchowska and Borys Szyc, who received three nominations each, going for Bartosz Topa, Przemysław Bluszcz and Julia Wieniawa.
