A wedding is a unique event in the life of every couple, and future brides, to make it even more magical, plan the celebration for months, taking care of every, even the smallest detail of the ceremony. Many of them also decide to introduce a number of rules regarding guests, which is not always met with their approval. This is also what happened in this case.
The bride criticized for the dress code of the guests
TikTokerka Samantha Twist decided to share an unpleasant experience related to the organization of the wedding on the web. As she admitted, she dreamed of a color-coordinated wedding, therefore she asked her guests to wear neutral-colored clothes for the wedding. However, this idea did not appeal to her relatives, who openly criticized her, threatening not to appear at the ceremony.
– In fact, everyone was outraged. I got a lot of unpleasant comments, and one of my aunts even said that if she pays so much attention to her outfit, she does not intend to appear at the wedding – Twist told in the video she published.
– My mother-in-law then called my fiance, asking what was wrong with me. “Doesn’t she understand that people don’t have the money to buy new outfits?” she added, describing the reaction of her relatives to her seemingly innocent request.
– In fact, everyone said I was a monster, asking them to wear neutral colors, but I figured most people have gray, beige or navy blue clothes in their wardrobe – explains Twist, admitting that the number of complaining calls she received after making a request to the guests, it was downright unbelievable.
Her story divided the users of the platform. Although some of them stood up for the bride, explaining that it was her day and that she had the right to decide what she would look like, many of them decided that she should not interfere with the question of the guests’ dress. – If you want to decide what outfit I will wear at your wedding, you should pay for it – one of the commenters cut in bluntly.
