House of Culture of Guayas celebrates poetry

This week, the House of Ecuadorian Culture nucleus of Guayas will present the works of great authors in commemoration of World Poetry Day. Among the exponents are Gloria Fuertes, Antonio Machado, María Elena Walsh, Rubén Darío, Nicolás Guillén and Gabriela Mistral. Hiphop and more in Urdesa

At Nativo&Co, a coffee bar and lounge, the new lineup of the hiphop group is presented The Ravensplus Carmen and the Scoundrels, which is the solo project of Alejandra Cervantes, also known as Doña Pepa, former accordionist and vocalist of the defunct Guayaquil band Los Corrientes. Documentary about feminist icon

OnDirecTV and the platform streaming DirecTV Go exclusively premiered the documentary Lady Boss: The Jackie Collins Story. The production traces the life and career of a successful British-American novelist and 1980s feminist icon who built a literary empire: Jackie Collins.

The documentary weaves together interviews with Jackie, her family and friends, portrayals of her most famous fictional character, Lucky Santangelo, and audiobook recordings with an extensive and private archive that was collected by Collins throughout her life. This collection of material was discovered by Jackie’s daughters after her death in 2015.
