British rock band Muse today released the song Compliancea single with an electronic sound featuring the use of synthesizers, as a preview of their next album Will of the peoplewhich will go on sale on August 26.
At the launch of Compliance It has been accompanied by the premiere of its video clip, in which three children appear with masks (reminiscent of the faces of the members of the group) who they destroy their future selves in order to escape from a chaotic and violent world.
As indicated by the record company Warner Music in a statement, the video is directed by Jeremy Durand, who has assured that when raising the plot of the clip he was inspired by the 2012 film Looperwhose plot also revolves around murders through time.
About the theme of the song, the leader of Muse, Matt Bellamy, comment the following: “This track is about submitting to authoritarian rules and reassuring falsehoods in order to be accepted in a group.”
This advance is the second of what will be the ninth album of the English, Will of the peoplewhose release is scheduled for the final stretch of this year and for which they already published another issue in January, Won’t Stand Down.
