Since the beginning of the war, Russian propaganda has been isolating Russians from what is actually happening in Ukraine. Media workers do not use the word “war” but “special military operation”. The president of Ukraine and his associates, on the other hand, are called Nazis. However, not all Russians think that way. This is evidenced by a case reported by an independent portal.
“Clearly negative attitude towards the Russian Armed Forces”
A resident of the Russian capital decided to express her opposition to the war in Ukraine through her outfit. As a result, she was fined PLN 30,000. rubles (over PLN 1,000). The woman was wearing a blue and yellow hat and her outer garment had a heart-shaped sticker in the national colors of Ukraine.
The outfit of the Russian woman was considered an insult to the Russian military.
In a public place, it displayed elements of clothing and a badge in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, thus expressing a clearly negative attitude towards the Russian Armed Forces, attracting the attention of bloggers and the media
– written in the case file.
Financial penalties for criticizing hostilities
It is worth mentioning that, according to the new law on “public actions aimed at discrediting the Russian military”, critics of hostilities in Ukraine may be fined. In the case of ordinary citizens, its maximum amount is 100,000. rubles (over PLN 4,000). On the other hand, the fine is higher in the case of legal persons (1 million rubles) and officials (300,000 rubles).
