With cinema and music, the month of la francophonie is celebrated in some cities of Ecuador

Cinema, literature and music come together to celebrate the francophonie month, whose party started yesterday with a series of French films in the auditorium of the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum (MAAC).

This cultural activity is aimed at all Spanish-speaking and French-speaking audiences and is carried out in collaboration with the embassies of Canada, Egypt, France, Haiti, Lebanon, Switzerland and the European Union, and the network of Alliances Françaises in Ecuador.

The film cycle will run until March 19, with films such as Heritages, from Philippe Aractingi, which is projected this afternoon, at 18:00. The documentary drama delves into themes such as identity, choice, origins, and strong family ties. The Arabic film features a man fleeing Lebanon, following the war between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance in 2006.

Tomorrow, at the same time, there will be a screening of the French film Il pleuvait des Oiseaux, a drama that tells the story of three old men who have chosen to retire from the world and live in the forests of Canada. will be screened on Thursday Petit Pays, friday comedy at the approach and on Saturday two animated films will be presented: vanilla and L’extraordinaire voyage de Marona.

In the same auditorium, the French artist Benjamin Piat will offer a concert folk-pop, on March 30, at 6:30 p.m.

This season will be completed by two concerts in the Alliance Française auditorium (headquarters). The March 22 Belgian-Peruvian artist David Mendez will perform with a recital of alternative Latin music with solo guitar. The March 24th the turn will be for the French-Peruvian pianist Manuel Guerrero. (I)
