It is a story of extraordinary female strength, steadfastness and willingness to live. In 2011, the then 24-year-old Turia Pitt took part in the 100 km marathon in Kimberley, Australia. She did not know, however, what tragedy would befall her during this run. – The route ran through the area at risk of fire, but the organizer did not decide to designate a new one and did not inform the competitors about the risk. Turia was running through the bush when the fire broke out. The fire swirled around her and cut off the escape route. Miraculously she came out of the fire alive, but over 60 percent of her body was burned, and doctors were careful in the prognosis whether she would survive – wrote Martyna Wojciechowska on her Instagram, explaining her story.

When Turia Pitt was hospitalized, she was put into a monthly coma in a pharmacological coma. The burns were so extensive that doctors had to amputate all the fingers of the right hand and two fingers of the left hand. She stayed in the hospital for six months and underwent nearly 200 operations during that time.

By her own admission, she has come a long way to accept the change in her appearance. All the time, however, she had enormous support next to her, which helped her to endure the most difficult moments. During the accident, Michael was her boyfriend, today he is her husband.

Today, Turia Pitt is a happy wife, mother and motivational speaker. She runs her profile on Instagram, where she is followed by over a million people. Although motherhood is the most important role for her, she has not given up her passions and further development. She graduated from Ironman, sailed around French Polynesia by boat, wrote several books, runs a foundation and travels:
