HBO Max – Disney productions will disappear by the end of March. As many as 60 titles will be missing

As Christina Sulebakk, general manager at EMEA, said in an interview with the website, the arrival of the new platform means a much richer catalog of content from Warner Bros., HBO, DC, Cartoon Network and Max Original. HBO Max’s offer also includes productions from external factories and concerns. According to information provided by Upflix – this will change soon.

According to the announcement, by the end of March 2022, over 60 popular titles, which are almost cult, will be removed from the HBO Max offer. Among them are many films, including the hugely popular new version of “The Lion King”.

, the Polish office of HBO did not provide the reasons for changes in the HBO Max offer, or information about new items in the website’s catalog. However, the regulations of the platform explain some issues:

User-accessible content may vary by subscription. In addition, the periods in which individual content is available for viewing depend on the acquired rights to the individual content and the terms of the subscription of the user.

We can therefore assume that the removal of several dozen titles from the HBO Max catalog is related to license agreements. This means that Disney has started withdrawing its flagship productions from external VoD services from Poland – due to the fact that it has planned to launch the Disney + platform on our market for the summer of 2022.
