The woman who escaped from Kharkiv is a policewoman. When it was announced in Ukraine that Russia had started the invasion, she was called in an emergency to her unit. However, when bombs started falling on Kharkiv, her superiors ordered her to take the dogs, the child, and her relatives and leave the country. The woman did so too. In the meantime, she contacted her friend from Siedlce, whom she knew from school years. She undertook to organize a place to live. During the evacuation from the city, the policewoman escaped not only with her family, but also with the animals. In addition to her cats and dogs, she also took in two cats of a friend who was afraid for their safety, and she stayed in.

The policewoman found refuge in Siedlce

The trip to Poland took almost three days. When the woman found herself in Poland, she went by bus to Warsaw, and then by train to Siedlce. There, thanks to the kindness of the inhabitants, the whole family and the animals found shelter in a single-family house, where the animals have a fenced yard and can run freely.

Officers from the Siedlce police declared their current help to the policewoman, her family and pets by delivering food and necessary things. During the meeting, the policewoman told them her story.

I have been serving in the National Ukrainian Police in Kharkiv for 6 years. After completing the two-month basic course, I serve in the patrol department. Three years ago, when I was sick in bed, I received an inquiry from my superiors about who would like to be a dog handler. I applied immediately without thinking. This is how my collaboration with a dog named Dar, a 4-year-old Belgian Shepherd Dog, a trained police officer to search for drugs, began. I love animals and I also look after a police dog pensioner, 9-year-old Zeus, whom I took in when it turned out that he had heart disease, thus saving him from sleep.

The woman said in a conversation with the policemen.

The story of the woman and her four-legged friends were very moving, who decided that they would provide her with an obstacle course for dogs located on the premises of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Siedlce. – “I am very grateful for the help provided, I did not expect such a reaction from the Polish Police. I really want female Dar, who is an active Police officer, to have the opportunity to train, thanks to the obstacle course in your unit, she will be able to improve all the time her skills and when we return to Ukraine, it will enable her to quickly return to service “- the woman explained.
