The idea for the album was born during the meeting between Natalia Przybysz and Kamil Sipowicz. The heir to Kora’s oeuvre entrusted Natalia with the notes of the legend of the Polish music scene collected and not published in the form of songs. The title “Beginning with Love” is a paraphrase of the title of the collection of Kora’s texts published in the form of a book. – Love begins with love – the collection of lyrics for songs that did not come into existence during Kora’s life came to life thanks to Natalia Przybysz. It was she who found them, put them together and sang them with love. Thanks to her, Kora’s love poetry lives on. It is like a paper flower which, when thrown into the ether, blooms – says Kamil Sipowicz.
Natalia Przybysz on the album “Beginning with love”: Kora’s poetry is like acupuncture
The album contains the previously unspoken lyrics by Kora with music composed and performed by Natalia Przybysz and her band – Jurek Zagórski, Mateusz Waśkiewicz, Pat Stawiński and Kuba Staruszkiewicz. Apart from Kora’s seven texts, the album includes two original songs by Natalia – “Zew” about the therapeutic actions of nature during a pandemic and “Jest Miłość” about communing with the creative energy of another woman.
– It is a great responsibility to take on the texts of Kora. I treated the words like pearls from the bottom of the sea. I tried not to take more than was necessary. Kora’s poetry has often touched the core of my emotional structure with the precision of acupuncture. I know that I am not her only patient, I hope that my melodies will help this medicine work better – says Natalia Przybysz.
The premiere of the album is accompanied by a music video for the song “Jest miłość” directed by Silvia Pogoda. The song tells about an encounter with the lyrics and the power of Kora, therefore the clip shows a non-verbal encounter with the power of Women. There were exceptional guests on the set – incl. Maria Dębska, Ilona Ostrowska or Silvia Pogoda.
– I wanted the video to be about the meetings without words. Two women, their sensitivity, their actions, creativity, being together in the theater space arranged choreographically. It is not about dancing, but about movement resulting from the meeting, and sometimes a glance or gesture is all it takes. I am interested in the composition of the two characters and how we are connected together in the ciaa language. A bit of Marina Abramowić, and a bit of my session for “Vogue” Fri. “HOPE” with Hania Rani – the way we met was almost exactly like that. Before we had time to talk, we were paired together in front of the camera lens, Hania rested her head on my shoulder … and this is how the friendship began – adds Przybysz about working on the music video for the song “Jest miłość”.

On March 12, a unique exhibition of Kora’s manuscripts on the basis of which the album was created will be held at the Warsaw Cultural Center. It will also be an opportunity to meet Natalia Przybysz and Kamil Sipowicz. On the other hand, on March 26, the tour promoting the album “Zaczynam się od miłość” starts.
