The Bilbao Gaylesbitrans Film and Performing Arts Festival, Zinegoaktoday announced the winning films of its 19th edition.
The documentary “Instructions for Survival”directed by Yana Ugrekhelidze, has won three prizes: the Zinegoak Grand Prize (€4,000, sponsored by EITB), the DOK prize and the Diversity and Human Rights Prize (€3,000, sponsored by the Directorate General for Cooperation and Diversity of the Biscay Provincial Council).
The international jury of the DOK section has awarded a special mention to “How the room felt” by Ketevan Kapanadze. Furthermore, in the case of the KRAK section, the award went to “Silent Voice”, by Reka Valerik.
The best FIK film, for its part, went to “Piccolo Corpo” by Laura Samani, and “Moneyboys”, by CB Yi, received a special mention in that section, dedicated to the most innovative narratives.
The Diversity and Human Rights jury has awarded a special mention to “La fracture”, by Catherine Corsini.
For its part, the Lesbianism and Gender award (€1,500, sponsored by the Equality Department of the Bilbao City Council) went to the film “Nudo Mixteco” by Ángeles Cruz, and “Our bodies are their battlefields” by Isabelle Solas has received a special mention.
The Euskal Aktoreen Batasuna jury has also awarded its prizes for the best performances at the festival: the award for best leading performance went to Maria Bakalova (“Woman do cry”), and the award for best supporting performance went to actor Pio Marmaï, from “La Fracture”.
In the field of short films, the winning work was “17 minutes with Nora”, by Imanol Ruiz de Lara.
