Queen Elizabeth II is “desperate” to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet in person: Prince Harry hesitates to travel to the United Kingdom after losing official security

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle honored Queen Elizabeth II by choosing the name Lilibet for their second daughter, a nickname by which the monarch was called during her childhood.

His Majesty met his great-granddaughter through a videoconference he held with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, when the little girl was born. However, the circumstances have not allowed the meeting to take place and she meets the new member of the royal family in person.

Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor is eighth in line to the throne, ranking behind her brother Archie (2), thus displacing Andrew, the queen’s third son, who lost his Royal Highness duties after allegations of sexual abuse.

Queen Elizabeth’s desire to meet her great-granddaughter grows

Royal expert Brian Hoey told The Express what Queen Elizabeth II longs for most at 95, after her grandson became the father of her second daughter.

Prince Harry and Meghan currently live in Montecito, California, a city in the United States, where the couple laid their roots by leaving the UK and their duties as senior members of the British royal family.

The author of many articles on the monarchy, revealed that he learned that the Queen of England is very interested in meeting the 9-month-old girl, whose first photo was made public to the entire world when her parents shared the postcard to wish Merry Christmas in the 2021.

The head of the monarchy was only able to see the girl through a video call link, and just three months after reaching her first year of life, it is known that the queen “would desperately like to see” her new great-granddaughter in person.

But the desires of the queen could be left behind, if Harry does not finish deciding whether or not to travel to England, and accompanied by his new daughter. The Daily Mail recalls that the son of Diana of Wales was removed from the special security that he enjoyed when he was a member of Buckingham Palace.

This legal challenge that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are experiencing came after the Home Office announced that they would not receive the “same degree” of personal protection security when visiting the UK as a visitor.

Hoey told the newspaper the information he collected from people who work in the palace. “I’ve heard from people I know within the Royal House that she would really, desperately like to see the baby in this way.”

Given the queen’s hope, Hoey considered the great expectation of many people: “I wonder if it will happen?

In Hoey’s opinion, the meeting of Queen Elizabeth II and her great-granddaughter would be a great step to iron out the great rough edges that arose between Harry and the rest of the royals.

He assured that he was convinced of the good reception that he would give the couple, if they decided to visit with their children.

“I’m absolutely sure the queen has no disapproving feelings towards Harry and Meghan, none at all, she would certainly welcome them if they came,” he said.

This comment comes as preparations are underway for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, 70 years after her accession to the throne. (AND)
