Sometimes it happens that the films that moved him the most in the cinema are not usually the ones chosen by the Academy among the nominees for the Oscar Awards. Tired of this controversy and to give a voice to amateur moviegoers, this year’s award created two recognitions in which the public has the last word: #OscarsFanFavorite and #OscarsCheerMomentwhose votes end this Tuesday, March 3, 2022even though the name of the winners will be reserved until the gala to be held next Sunday March 27.
To cast their vote, fans can do so through the official site created by the academy (available only in certain countries), but also can tweet (up to 20 times a day) the name of your favorite movieaccompanied by hashtags #OscarsFanFavorite.
So far, among the films that lead the votes are Spider-Man No Way Home (Jon Watts), malignant (James Wan), Suicide Squad (James Gunn) cinderella (Kay Cannon) and Army of the Dead (Zack Snyder), candidates who demonstrate that fans are willing to reward other film genres that are not usually as welcomed by the Academy as the terror and the tapes Superheros, although they also agree with the critics in voting for The Power of the Dog (Jane Champion) and dunes (Denis Villeneuve).
Another interesting twist to the 2022 awards is to allow the audience highlights the cinematic moment that captivated them that moment that made them stand up, applaud and get excited. The winning scenes will be shown at the ceremonyalong with tweets from fans.
The five moments nominees are:
Spider-Man No Way Home: Spider-Man Team Up
The Matrix: Neo Dodging Bullets
dreamgirls: “And I’m Telling You”
avengers endgame: Avengers Assemble
Zack Snyders Justice League: Flash Speed Force
As confirmed The Hollywood Reporter, three of the Twitter users who have voted for their favorite movies will also have the opportunity to present an Oscar in the ceremony.
“We are delighted to partner with Twitter to help build an engaged and excited digital audience ahead of this year’s ceremony“, said meryl johnson, vice president of digital marketing for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, announcing the new categories. “Through these activations, social media users around the world now have more opportunities to interact with the show in real timefind a community and be part of this experience in ways they’ve never been able to before.”
