Leviev family sues ‘Tinder scammer’ for usurping their last name

This was revealed by the documentary The Tinder scammer (The Tinder Swindler), recently released in Netflix and which focuses on the testimony of three victims whom Hayut, under the identity of Simon Leviev, emotionally manipulated, fell in love and to whom he later asked for money that he never returned, leaving them with staggering debts and threats.

Although the investigation ends with simon released, without having been accused of any crime, today it was announced that the Leviev family filed a complaint against the scammer for having pretended to be one of its members.

In a statement to AND! News, Chagit Levievdaughter of Lev Leviev and heir to the family fortunesaid that the multimillion-dollar demand has as goal that Simon “face justice and get the sentence he deserves.”

Shimon Hayut he’s a liar who stole our family’s identity and has tried exploit our good name to scam victims with millions of dollars,” said the CEO Leviev Group USA in a statement to AND! News. “He is not related to the Leviev family and has no affiliation with our company LLD Diamonds.”.

Chagit continued: “I am relieved that his true identity and actions have been exposed globally, and I hope this puts an end to his unscrupulous actions.”.

The allegations in the lawsuit include libel, invasion of privacy and trademark infringement. The Leviev family said that Simon’s “despicable actions” defame and “humiliate” them.

A Simon representative replied to AND! News about the lawsuit saying that “Simon thinks the family is just trying to insert themselves into the narrative for publicity after the show’s success.”.
