Available on digital distribution platforms since last Sunday, it was produced by Joaquín Terán (@joaquinteranyepez), José David Armendáriz (@jojojosedavid) and Emilia Stadler (@emmi.emmi.e), as part of the El Arkade (@el.arkade). In addition, it has a promotional video directed by Carlos Loor (@solracrool), who was also in charge of the cover of the single.
Líbero shows different musical elements that try to give a melancholic identity to a dynamic and danceable sound that becomes easy to enjoy; guitars, rhythm machines, synthesizers and more, design eighties characteristics in their aesthetics, without abandoning the essence of modern pop that the band tries to project.
From my perspective, the main voice could have had a higher volume to be perceived in a better way. Small details that can perhaps be overlooked; however, it enjoys clarity and sharpness, giving it excellent nuances at different moments of the song, thanks to the mix made by Ángel Mena (@angelmena.producer) and the mastering by Juan Pablo Rivas (@juanpablorivas_d).
Giving new life to the local scene will always be an act of courage that should be laudably recognized. Change is not usually applauded from the first try. Mexicoke represents a feat of independent national music, emerging as a project with a promising future that will soon release its first studio album. With his particular sound and his clear musical idea, he begins to travel a long way.
