Eurovision winner flees Ukraine with her children: ‘I don’t understand this damn terror!’

jamala, the Ukrainian singer who won in Eurovision 2016arrived in Belarus after four days of difficult journey from Kiev, accompanied by her two young childrenan experience that has been shared through Instagram.

Just hours after the Russian attack began, Susana Alimivna Jamaladinova, known by the stage name Jamala, she decided to leave her house in Kiev and drive with her children to Belarus.

“On the 24th in the evening we left Kiev with the children, we spent almost 4 days in the car, at unplanned stops, completely without food”, explains the singer in a message accompanied by a photo of her with her children inside the car.

Between Kiev and the Russian border there is around 170 kilometers of distance, which took four days to travel, with moments in which they barely advanced 2 kilometers in 4 hours.

“I want to wake up and hear that it’s just a movie, like don’t look upsays Jamala, who regrets that there are millions of women and children who are abandoning everything, leaving their husbands, who are left to defend Ukraine.

“Ukraine is huge, beautiful and so devastatingly independent! Yes, I think that is the key. They cannot take away our freedom of expression!”cries the singer.

He also remembers the civilian victims, the women locked in the cellars under the bombs. “I don’t understand this bloody terror!” add.

But he shows his confidence in the Ukrainian president, Valodymyr Zelensky, in the army of his country and in the brave and strong Ukrainian men and women. “We will win! Ukraine must not be silenced! Ukraine cannot be defeated!”

Jamala calls on the Russians to boycott her government and thanks Belarus for letting Ukrainians fleeing bombs through.

The singer won Eurovision with her song 1944, in which he narrated the deportation of thousands of Crimean Tatars, something that violated Russia. (I)
