Ukrainian women took up arms. These photos and videos show their heroism

On the Internet you can find more and more photos or recordings of the defender. On Instagram, “The New York Times” has published photos of women sitting next to each other holding guns.

Julia, a teacher and volunteer, cries on Saturday waiting for deployment to fight Russian troops around Kiev. Ukrainian civilians took up their arms and joined the battle to maintain control of the capital.

The journalist asked the teacher if she knew how to use weapons

Moments later, “The New York Times” published a recording in which we hear the journalist’s conversation with. When asked about how she felt, the woman replied that she just wanted to live in her country, that’s all. The journalist replied:

You are fighting for it, you are very brave.

The reporter also asks tearful Julia if she knows how to use a gun. We see that each of the women has a rifle at her side.

No, maybe a little. We started learning two days ago. This is terrible.

When asked if she was afraid, she replied that of course she would. The recording shows that a woman cannot help but cry, and the situation seems to be extremely difficult and touching for everyone.

Ukraine is defending itself

From the information we read on the Internet, we learn that the civilian resistance movement received instructions on how to stop the Russians, but also that they should first and foremost take care of their safety. Ukrainians are defending themselves at every turn and repelling attacks in Kharkiv and Kiev.
