Vyrypaev: We have to consider whether the mental health of the Russian president is okay

– In all conversations and discussions, I said everywhere, including at home, that there would be no conflict. Of course, I follow the logic of a normal human being and cannot explain what happened. I cannot understand Putin’s logic. I did not expect – Vyrypaev, adding that people living in Russia with whom he spoke had a similar opinion.

Some of his friends assumed that Vladimir Putin would enter the self-proclaimed republics in eastern Ukraine, in Lugansk, but he was surprised by the decision to aggress on February 24 at night. Then the Russian troops attacked Ukraine. Vladimir Putin’s troops struck from various directions, both from the ground and from the air. In the morning of February 25, the Russians began bombing the capital of Ukraine. On Friday afternoon, “Guardian” reporter Roland Oliphant reported that heavy rocket fire was taking place in the north of Ukraine.

Ivan Vyrypaev on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine: What happened is bad for Ukraine. But what happened is also fatal for Russia

Russian actor, director and playwright, winner of the “Polityka” Passport Award for 2012 in the theater category, and privately the husband of Polish actress Karolina Gruszka, says:

It seems to me that we need to consider whether the mental health of the Russian president is okay. You have to check. Of course: what happened is bad for Ukraine. But what happened is also fatal for Russia. Of course, that doesn’t explain anything, because maybe it really is mental illness.

Vyrypaev says Russia is very divided. In his opinion, the intelligentsia, but not only that, would like to change Russia, but there is no driving force, and there is no internal opposition on the government’s side. – There is no party that will say “no” to Putin. Navalny in prison. I have bad news: in Putin’s surroundings there are no other thinkers than he is. It is only possible that the war will weaken the economy, which will also be affected by sanctions, and this will affect the situation, the director notes.

– Not all Russians support the regime. There are brave people. They show what is happening on the Internet, they make telemosts with Ukraine, they appear. They are really risking a lot now. Not everyone is silent, says Vyrypaev.
