One of them will apply. The prohibition of their sale will be absolute. Among them, there are anti-dandruff shampoos.
Anti-dandruff shampoos will be removed from the shelves by a decision of the European Commission
From March 1, drugstores and pharmacies will not be able to offer their customers cosmetics containing zinc lily and pyrithione. This is the result of a decision by the European Commission which in October 2021 recognized both substances as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction.
Zinc pyrithione: a anti-dandruff shampoo. Many products will be recalled
Until now, zinc pyrithione has been used in anti-dandruff shampoos. This substance is effective in fighting parasitic fungi and bacteria. It is used in the treatment of scalp diseases such as seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, mycosis and psoriasis. It is also found in preparations for hair loss. This substance has been questioning its safety for some time, but due to its action, it has so far been approved for use in rinse-off preparations for hair care. The zinc pyrithione content could not, however, exceed 1%.
In what cosmetics can we find lilial: the ban on the sale of these cosmetics comes into force
Lilial (Butylphenyl Methylpropional) is a synthetic aldehyde with a scent of white flowers. So far, it has been used in many categories, including in washing or care products. Due to the ban on the use of Lilial, the Sea Buckthorn Cream and Calendula Cream, for example, will be withdrawn from sale, as announced by the company ZioĊolek, the producer of these cosmetics.
