Radio journalist Juan Pablo Colmenarejo has died at the age of 54 after being hospitalized after suffering a strokeas reported by Onda Madrid and Telemadrid.
Juan Pablo Colmenarejo was the director and presenter of the morning program ‘Buenos Días Madrid’ on Onda Madrid, a radio station he joined after having directed and presented the nightly news program for Cadena Cope ‘La lantern’ since 2009.
The journalist, father of two children and follower of Atlético de Madrid, He has hosted programs on the main radio stations in the country, such as RNE, Onda Cero and Cope. He has also been a columnist for the ABC newspaper and deputy director of news for TVE.
After learning of the death, the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, expressed on Twitter, on behalf of the people of Madrid, hisu regret and sadness for the death of Colmenarejo. “On behalf of the people of Madrid, we deeply regret the death of Juan Pablo Colmenarejo. His voice is extinguished, but his legacy will always remain in our memory. Rest in peace,” Almeida wrote.
The president of the Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain (FAPE), Nemesio Rodríguez, has also expressed his deepest condolences on Twitter to the family and friends of Juan Pablo Colmenarejo.
