Due to the decision of chairman Krzysztof Czabański, the National Media Council did not have the opportunity to read a letter from Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Gosiewska to the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, which said that Kamińska “mocks an institution with nearly a hundred years of history”. Czabański, did not want RMN members to get acquainted with the opinion of the Polish Radio Program Council about Agnieszka Kamińska. Let us recall that the Polish Program Council is headed by Marek Suski – the authority rejected the report on the implementation of the “broadcasting station’s mission” already in June last year. Suski drew attention to the catastrophic drops in listenership and the poor programming of the Polish Radio Three.

Marek Suski commented on the matter for Virtual Media:

I am not aware of the successes of the president, Agnieszka Kamińska. Polish Radio is in decline, and one of the people to blame for it is the president. This is bad news for Polish Radio listeners. Today RMN took the blame for the disastrous results in Polish Radio.

MP Suski is probably not convinced by the arguments of MP Lichocka and President Kamińska that the results of Radio Track Kantar’s audience research should not be treated credibly. Both believe that these are studies conducted by a private institution for private media, they are not carried out on a sufficiently representative group of respondents and do not reflect the essence of the mission of Polish Radio. The Radio Research Committee replied to the allegations: in a statement from the beginning of 2021, it was stated that the audience survey has been conducted in the same way for two years and that respondents from all poviats take part in them.

Agnieszka Kamińska’s “achievements” in Polish Radio

Agnieszka Kamińska has been managing Polish Radio since 2020. At that time: Anna Gacek, who had almost 20 years of experience in hosting various programs due to an alleged speech defect, was removed from the air, there was a scandal with allegedly falsified voting results up to 1998. “List of hits and”, won by Kazik Staszewski’s song “Twój the pain is better than mine “. As a result, several dozen long-term employees, both journalists and publishers, left the radio. Marek Niedźwiecki, Wojciech Mann, Kuba Strzyczkowski – this is just the beginning of this list. Since then, a real procession of personnel changes began in Trjka: the head of the radio station changed several times, and journalists previously associated with, inter alia, with TVP and Republika Television. In addition, the radio station had worse and worse listenership results from month to month.

Trjka in 2021 had an average of 1.9 percent, this was also the difference compared to 2020. It dropped from 7th place to 12th, losing listeners almost every month and recording the lowest results in its history. For comparison, in 2019 it was the fourth most popular radio station in the country with 5.1 percent. share. Let us recall that in 2018 it was 5.7%, and a few years earlier it was even above 7%. The radio station Jedynka, which compared to the previous year, decreased by 0.5 percentage point and now has 4.7 percent. audience share. This is its lowest result in the history of conducting measurements.
