In Poland, twice a year for 44 years. In 2022, it will also be the case, and it will be quite soon. It is possible, however, that it will change soon, and all this is due to the Confederation’s draft, which was included in the parliamentary work.
When does daylight saving time 2022 change? We’ll be sleeping an hour less soon
The change always takes place on the last weekend of March. This is when we switch our watches from 2:00 to 3:00, so our sleep is shorter by an hour. In 2022, therefore, it will fall on the night of Saturday, March 26, to Sunday, March 27.
Change to summer time 2022. Poles want it to be introduced permanently
In 2019, the Ministry of Technology and Entrepreneurship commissioned CBOS with a study, the results of which showed that almost 80 percent. Poles do not want to change clocks, but to introduce a uniform time all year round – preferably summer time. This idea even appeared at the forum of the European Parliament, but unfortunately it stopped work on this project. Therefore, the time change is expected to remain in force at least until 2026, unless the EP resumes earlier work.
The Confederation presented its project. The proposed 2022 time change may not impress everyone
For the first reading in the Sejm of the Confederation, represented by Janusz Korwin-Mikke. The changes proposed by the party, taking into account the CBOS poll, are not good news for everyone. MEPs are asking for the permanent introduction of winter time, which they argue as follows:
Summer time does not bring any economic benefits, while twice a year it disturbs both the economy (especially transport) and the functioning of human and animal organisms. (…) At the same time, one should definitely reject the idea of (as allowed by the EU) introduce permanent summer time, which would take an hour of sleep every day in winter, especially for children
