Until we saw this trailer, we didn’t know we needed this movie very much

Anyone who remembers such productions as “Love, Emerald and Crocodile”, “Rose’s War”, “Jewel of the Nile”, “Fish Called Wanda”, “Swapping Places”, “With Her Death To Her Face” or “The Devil”, but and comedy with Sandra Bullock, he should be intrigued by what the creators of “Lost City” are proposing. We are preparing an adventure comedy full of jokes from genre patterns. Plus we get Brad Pitt, whose hero says he’s the son of a weather presenter – that’s why he’s so handsome.

The author of romantic adventure novels, Loretta Sage (played by Oscar-winning comedy queen Sandra Bullock), lives a much less exciting life than you might think from reading her books. He likes sitting at home, tapping the keyboard and drinking white wine with ice during long baths in order to relax. Her books are quite popular, among others thanks to the extremely kitschy covers straight from the Harlequin and the 1980s. They always show the hero of Dash in a standard configuration: a loose shirt, a muscular chest and long blonde hair blowing in the wind. Interestingly, his likeness was created on the basis of the image of the model Alan (Channig Tatum). Alan seems to think he really is a book hero.

Loretta does not even suspect that he is not the only one who confuses fiction with reality: during the premiere of his next book, he is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe), who wants her to lead him to the lost city she describes. A model sets out to save the writer who wants to prove that she is more than a stupid bully. It all sounds pretty ridiculous, but the trailer is just a roller coaster ride:

In an interview with “EW” Bullock and Tatum confirmed that the comparisons to the movie “Love, Emerald and Crocodile” with Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas are definitely not accidental. – Such films are not made anymore. We want to see if we can hit the jackpot with a new version of the story embedded in the genre. It’s a really special thing, Tatum assured me. On the other hand, Bullock, who is the producer of “Lost City”, emphasizes that the film inverts a typical adventure configuration in which the male character is a loner type and the female character is open to challenges. – It’s funny that you can take the usual patterns so easily and make them new. Now we won’t say “this is a typical female role”, “this is a typical male role”. We can have fun with it and create a completely fresh dynamic. That’s what we did here, she explained.

We will not hide, our expectations are really high now. After watching this trailer, it’s also easy to see why Lost City is called one of the most anticipated films of 2022. Brothers Aaron and Adam Nee are responsible for directing, who also co-wrote the script based on an idea by Seth Gordon. Together with them, Oren Uziel and Dana Fox wrote it (“Cruella”, “Paradise for couples”, “How do singles do it”). The Polish premiere is scheduled for March 25, 2022.
