More changes to InPost. Will pickup of parcels be even easier? “The search for packages will end”

Some of the changes introduced from the new year by InPost are the result of complaints filed with the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. It turns out that this is not the end of the revolution. InPost is preparing solutions thanks to which it can be even more improved.

Changes in InPost 2022. Three important solutions introduced by the carrier

The intervention of the President of UOKiK forced InPost to be introduced. I am talking about:

• redirection of the parcel – in the event of overfilling the parcel locker, the courier may place the parcel at a point up to 2 km in a straight line for 24 hours. After this time, the parcel must be returned to the target parcel locker, where the customer will have 48 hours to collect it,
• no additional fees – a penalty of PLN 3.68 was charged in the event of incorrect indication of the dimensions of the shipment after its shipment. From now on, additional fees for the discrepancy between the actual and declared parcel size will not be charged,
• extension of the pickup time – applies to parcels delivered on Saturdays to points located inside retail outlets that are closed on Sundays.

Parcel lockers in shopping centers? There may be more and more of them soon

According to the information published by the portal, InPost is occupying more and more places in galleries after stores going bankrupt in the pandemic. The company, taking advantage of this situation, takes over such premises, opening a point with parcel machines there. It is not located in the gallery, but a whole separate room. One of such points can be found in Galeria Renova, which is open from 10:00 to 21:00.

The increasing number of parcel machines is to reduce the problem with the unavailability of pick-up points chosen by customers. We can already find parcel lockers at almost every step, and this is not the end. InDoor parcel lockers will appear in popular Żabka stores. Such solutions will please users who drew attention to the emerging problem with the availability of selected parcel machines:

How it pissed me off, I have a parcel locker under my nose, and I had to chase all over the city. Finally, the search for packages will end, all over town.

I understand that the parcel does not fit in a busy parcel locker, but in my case it is usually redirected to a parcel locker, to which I do not have easy access, because it is e.g. in a paid parking lot.
