Érika Russo stars in ‘Corazón Hackeado’, the interactive series in which you choose the happy ending

We have all experienced that, when watching a movie, we wanted to tell the protagonist what decision to make. And, in that effort, we have worn out talking to him in front of the screen without obviously our words had an effect on the outcome.

In the stories designed by Transmedia Magnet, production company specializing in immersive content (virtual reality, 360 degrees) and interactive, the viewer does have that power and from this Tuesday, for example, you will be able to decide the love destiny of Marthe protagonist of the romantic and comic fiction titled hacked heart whose first episode opens this Tuesday 15for Valentine’s Day.

Played by actress Erika Russo (EnchufeTV)Sea suffers a terrible disappointment in love and, at the age of 30, decides to return to the world of dating through a apps. Who will you choose to date? Will she kiss him or not? What topics will they talk about? Thanks to the technological development achieved by its producers, you will be behind all these decisions.

The creative process behind the plot is based on a previous investigation and survey carried out on several users who confirmed that it is possible to establish emotional bonds from apps dating and social networking (regardless of whether or not they had personally experienced it).

In that same line, the Imán Transmedia team managed to gather more than 560 stories of relationships and encounters that were born virtually and that can be read on the site www.corazonhackeado.com (if you like, you can also write yours on the same link).

“The concept comes a bit from how and who we are: that generation that grew up with analog and switched to digital as we grew up. We had cassettes, then CDs and now we have gigabytes of music on our smartphone”, he explains. John Paul Urgiles, creative director and screenwriter. “We were part of that evolution and the changes in how we have experienced relationships. Most of them know several cases in which social networks and technology interfered in our love relationships”.

Against this background, Urgilés, a fan of romantic comedy, saw with his team the opportunity to develop this project that is still seeking financial support and private investment to complete the two planned seasons.

Doing transmedia also means that your problems are transmedialized and multiplied by each platform”, he jokes, not so joking, David Lucio Burgosco-founder and producer, speaking of the inconveniences they have had to overcome to carry out each story and that, due to their format, have a very different creative itinerary to traditional filming.

However, it ensures that having a clear concept of what you want to tell allows you to add more platforms in the future and successfully join and tie the content together.

Just like linear productions (made just for the viewer to look at), transmedia and interactive stories are also born from a ‘mother’ content that later grows in layersas explained Caridian Niama, Executive producer. “Then complementary and interactive content is generated; that is to say, what are those bifurcations that you have to tell other stories”.

Also, it must work out how the user is going to experience that story. “It’s known that for an interactive you need a certain duration so that people can choose button A or B and then that shot has to be longer”, explains Urgilés. “Virtual reality and 360-degree content we almost have to edit with the glasses on, scene by sceneand put myself in the role of the user who is going to experience every moment”.

All this experience and constant learning is reflected in the various stories already produced by Imán Transmediabetween them, the short documentary Crossdeveloped in 360 degrees and that has the journey on foot of a Venezuelan citizen through Ecuador until meeting their relatives and getting a job. The production was presented in Barcelona in December last year as part of the XRdocs Festival.

“It has been a very important development that they take it as a reference in the region about how a 360 and immersive project can transcend and generate a high social impact”, explains Niama.

Another notable story was the collaborative transmedia documentary thousands of passengers, that collects stories of travelers who travel through Latin America, creating a virtual space to store the identity and memory of this region. Thus, the continent and its inhabitants can recognize each other through the other and their travel experiences”summarizes his synopsis.

Our task has always been to tell good stories and tell them well, beyond the means used”, specifies Urgilés. “But if we rely on these technological elements that allow us to give the user the possibilities of experiencing our contents in a different, experiential and sensory wayto be part of history, decide and see it from the perspective you want”.
