Prince Charles of England, heir to the British throne, tested positive for covid-19 for the second time “this morning” and is in isolation, his official Clarence House residence reported on Twitter on Thursday.
“His Royal Highness is deeply disappointed that he will not be able to attend the events in Winchester (South England) today and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible,” the tweet said.
This is the second time that the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, 73, has contracted the virus after being infected for the first time in 2020.
Prince Charles was yesterday met with numerous people and accompanied by his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at a reception held at the British Museum to commemorate the work of the British Asian Association (BAT, in English).
The news comes days after the monarch celebrated her Platinum Jubilee – her 70 years on the throne – during which she expressed her “sincere wish” that the Duchess of Cornwall would become queen consort when Charles came to reign. (I)
