Special effects designer James Collins, working on the production, also prepared a set of acrylic prostheses for the actress, which pushed the actress’s upper weight to make her as similar as possible to a 90s sex bomb – Lily wore them all day. It helped her fight her British accent better, Collins recalled.
But that’s not all. The transformation of James into Anderson consisted of four stages. As David Williams, the chief make-up director, explained, it started with prosthetic make-up, then corrective make-up, character make-up, and finally beautifying make-up.
James’ likeness to Anderson was not limited to the characterization of her face, however. In many scenes, the actress had to wear breast forms as well. – They were so hot in them. When I started to sweat, my breasts were coming off, James was saying. In addition, putting them on was very time-consuming, which is why in some dreams it was decided to enlarge the actress’s breasts with a special outfit. Despite this, as many as 50 pairs of silicone breasts were used for the series.
– I’ve never worked so hard. I read books [Anderson – red.]that she wrote, her poetry, and I can repeat all of her interviews, ‘said James. “My only intention was to present this story and play Pamela in an authentic way,” she assured.
